Regardless of what else transpires in the next week, I am already going to name my junior hockey MVP for the 2016-17 season.
This year’s well-deserving recipient is Andrew Kormos, a goaltender with the NA3HL’s Metro Jets. Andrew went a perfect 23-0-0 this season with a 0.93 goals-against average, a .959% save percentage and eleven shutouts. He only allowed 21 goals all season.
A native of Milford, Michigan, the 20-year-old signed a NAHL tender with the New Jersey Titans three days before his birthday this year, and he will join them for his overage junior campaign next season.
