Spotlight on Ilan: A Paramount Hockey Goalie from Washington

We are thrilled to highlight one of our standout goalies, Ilan, whose accomplishments both on and off the ice are nothing short of extraordinary.

Academic Excellence

Ilan, a 9th grader, has demonstrated remarkable academic prowess with a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA and an impressive 4.78 weighted GPA. As a member of the Advanced Placement Power Scholars program, he excels in challenging courses and has earned the World Languages Distinguished Scholar Award in French.

Community Leadership

Beyond the classroom, Ilan is a dedicated community leader. He volunteers as a Junior Coach at his local rink and has made a significant impact through his involvement with the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation. As a Young Ambassador alumnus, he spearheaded a project to provide adaptive physical therapy bikes for children with special needs, raising nearly $14,000 and collaborating with the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers.

Athletic Achievements

On the ice, Ilan's performance is equally impressive. He played for the MYHA 14U Upper A Blue team, contributing to their success as Silver Stick Columbia Regional Champions and advancing to the Silver Stick International in Port Huron, MI. Ilan's skills earned him a nomination for the Atlantic Hockey Federation (AHF) All Star Weekend and he ranked among the top goalies in various league metrics, including save percentage and goals-against average.

As a key player for his high school's Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, Ilan achieved a historic undefeated season in JV, setting records for wins, shutouts, and save percentage.

Looking Ahead

Next season, Ilan will continue his academic journey with more advanced courses and will play for the Tri City Eagles 15U AA team, while also serving as the starting goalie for his high school Varsity team. His commitment to community service and leadership remains strong as he continues his work with the adaptive "Dream Bikes" project and his role on the NHL Youth Advisory Board.

Ilan’s journey with Paramount Hockey, which began in August 2022, is a testament to his dedication, talent, and leadership. We are proud to have him as part of our hockey family and look forward to his continued success.
